MEET THE FOUNDER
KERSHELLE (HILAIRE) BARKER, BSc, MPH, CPT
CORE Founder & Head Trainer
I can't remember a time in my life that I was ever really considered "fit". I was a dancer for over 10 years, and played volleyball for about 6, but I never truly felt like I was fit. I grew up with asthma, so my lungs always felt like they would burst from cardio, and I was beginning to think that maybe I just wasn't designed (genetically) to be fit and lean. I was always pretty active, but I never got the results I wanted.
You see, I was trying to change my body, without changing my lifestyle.
I had serious addictions to chocolate and doubles and I would start workout programs and quit halfway through or get so busy that it was no longer a priority.
My turning point came in December, 2015 when I had to complete a fitness assessment. I struggled through push-ups, sit-ups and a 2-mile jog, and just when I thought the worst was over, BAM! there were cardio drills that went on for about an hour non-stop. I couldn't breathe, and had an asthma attack!
It was at that moment I realised something HAD to change. Since then, I've adapted my lifestyle, transformed the way I view training and nutrition, and now I'm in the best shape of my life thus far! It was only when I got to the CORE of my setbacks and hindrances, that I was able to get here...
And now, I want to help YOU do the same! Read more about why I started CORE.
