WHY I STARTED CORE

I've tried quite a few workout programs. Some worked, some I quit halfway through, some just sucked. I've joined a couple gyms. I stopped going after a few weeks or months. I danced, I played volleyball... but I don't think I've ever considered myself "fit". Fitness was certainly never a lifestyle for me.

 

"I was always pretty active, but I never got the results I wanted.

You see, I was trying to change my body, without changing my lifestyle." 

 

 

 

 

Fast-forward to a couple years ago, and I began enjoying working out and eating right, and began seeing results. I decided to start CORE Wellness TT (CORE) for 3 main reasons:

 

1. As a public health professional, I learned a lot about getting to the core (pun intended) of health problems. Physicians are trained mainly to deal with symptoms, but public health practitioners are trained to get to the "why" of those symptoms, and therefore address them more effectively. 

As a result, I want to help you get to the root of your health and fitness problems, to identify and target the causes of your setbacks and hindrances. I want to help you push past those barriers to greatness!

 

2. Cancer has taken the lives of my mother and grandfather. Losing my mom was the most difficult experience I've ever faced. The months leading up to (and following) her passing really made me more aware of my health, and made me more conscious of lifestyle diseases on a whole.

As a result, I want to help you combat lifestyle diseases, and get well through nutrition and physical activity. 

 

3. I don't know about you, but I'm not a fan of gyms (I go only because I'm now at a point in my journey where I need weight training as part of my regimen). I also didn't like popping in a DVD of a workout program and seeing these super-fit people working out, while I'm catching my tail to keep up. Cookie-cutter workout programs just don't cut it for me.

As a result, I want to provide you with fully customised workouts and nutrition guides that cater to your fitness level, problem areas, schedule, goals, health needs etc., without the added pressure of "keeping up" with others, or "competing" in a class filled with people. Our Group Sessions are different - even though it's a group session, you still get individual attention and motivation.

 

 

I have a Master's Degree in Public Health and I am certified in public health (with the (US) National Board of Public Health Examiners). I am also an ACE-certified Personal Trainer. So rest assured, you're in good hands!
